PANAJI: To make Goa truly self-sufficient the Mandrem group of Revolutionary Goans conducted mushroom planting training for its members under RG’s “Amche Xetkaar” campaign, various agricultural activities are carried out all over Goa. The cultivation of “Oyster Mushroom” is being carried out by RG’s young farmer Gauresh Gaude from Priol.
Recently, the RG team from Mandrem visited Priol and completed a one-day mushroom planting program and workshop under the guidance of Gaurish. At this time, they have harvested about fifteen mushroom cultivation sets. Members of Mandrem RG were seen participating in the workshop with great enthusiasm. Mandrem RG leader Sunayana Gawde and other members were present on the occasion.
“In order to make Goa truly self-sufficient, our youth need to develop a passion for agriculture. They need to be taught farming that will generate more and more income”, said Sunayana Gawde.
She said that in just 22 days, the Mushroom will be ready to be eaten. At this time four varieties of mushrooms were planted.
