CONGRESS NORTH BLOCK PAYS FLORAL TRIBUTE TO INDIRA GANDHI, VALLABHBHAI PATEL
MAPUSA: The North Goa Congress District Committee office bearers paid floral tribute to the Former Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi on her death anniversary at the Congress office at Mapusa on Sunday. The ceremony of remembrance marked the 37th death anniversary of the Iron lady of India. Simultaneously they also paid tribute to the late Home Minister, Vallabhbhai Patel.
The North Goa Congress District President, Vijay Bhike hailed the former PM who served the country till the very end. “She was a tall and secular leader. I am proud to be associated with the Congress party. In order to protect and safeguard the identity of Goa we need to bring the Congress back in power in the upcoming elections,” said Bhike.
While the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) Media Cell Chairman, Amarnath Panjikar highlighted that when a great man dies, for years he is remembered for his service towards mankind and sacrifices.
“We Goans should take forward the learning and contribution done by leaders like Indira Gandhi. There is a need to not just preach but practice their ideologies in our day to day lives. This is a crucial election and we need to free ourselves from the slavery of the BJP rule over the last decade. Every vote is precious, we need to use it wisely, “said Panjikar.
The NSUI Goa State President, Naushad Chaudhary praised Indira for the opinion poll which gave Goa an independent identity. “Indira gave students a platform to voice their opinions and grievances through the NSUI,” he said.
