A shack was gutted in fire in Anjuna on Thursday early morning, resulting in a loss of around Rs 5 lakh to the owners

according to Mapusa fire service they received  a call about the fire incident and accordingly  a team of fire personnel attached to Mapusa fire station led by sub-oficer Ashok Parab, along with fire fighters Paresh Mandrekar, Suraj Karapurkar, Nitin Mayekar, Akshay Sawant, Swapnesh Kalangutkar, Arjun  Dhawaskar, Pravin Pissurlekar and Devendra Naik rushed to the site and doused the fire. The blaze was such that furniture,and electrical appliances and other material in the shack were completely destroyed.

Mapusa fire personnel have estimated the damage of  around Rs 5 lakh but they succeeded in saving property worth around Rs 1 lakh. The exact cause of fire is not  known, however, it is suspected to have been caused  due to an electrical  short circuit.
