The mangueshi temple is located at mangeshi village in Priol Ponda Taluka Goa it is at a distance of 11km from mardol close to nagueshi 21 km from Panaji the capital of Goa and 26 km from margao. HH shrimad swamiji of shri Kavle math is the spiritual head of the Shri Manguesh Sausthan mangeshi.
The temple is one of the largest and the most frequently visited temple in Goa. This temple had its origins in Kushasthalivillage Cortalim a village in mormugao which fell to the invading portuguese in 1543. in the year 1560 when the portuguese started christain conversions in Mormugao taluka the Saraswat of kaudinya Gotra abd Vasta Gotra moved the mangueshi linga from the original site at kaushastali or Cortalim. Since the time of shifting the temple has been re built and renovated twice during the reign of the marathas and againin the year 1973 when a golden kalasha was fitted atop the tallest dome of the temple Mangeshi is 37.92 km from . If one has to travel by train then the nearest town is Ponda which is located at a distance of 17 km from karmali railway station. The major railway terminus of Margao has bus services catering up to Ponda.
If one has to travel by road then a local bus services operated by private bus owners ply regularly from Ponda Bus Stand as well as from Kadamba Bus Stand, Panaji.
