CONGRESS GREETS MEDIA PERSONS ON NATIONAL PRESS DAY
MAPUSA: The North Goa Congress District Committee President, Vijay Bhike greets media persons on the occasion of National Press Day. He applauded the commitment and efforts of those journalists who have stood for honest and unbiased journalism. A free and responsible press is essential for a strong and vibrant democracy.
“My greetings to the media fraternity on National Press Day. I appreciate the hard work put in by our media, especially the reporters, photographers and videographers, who tirelessly work on the ground and publish our news on a regular basis. Press is one thing which connects us to the society and world at large and that’s why we must thank it,” said Bhike.
“We must not forget that the press is also called the fourth pillar of democracy. The role of the media in giving voice to the voiceless is commendable. I am grateful to the media for supporting me in addressing social issues which help protect the Goan identity despite not having any influential godfathers,” he added.
