CALANGUTE BLOCK CONGRESS CONDEMNS STATEMENT MADE BY MICHAEL LOBO AGAINST CONGRESS LEADER AGNELO FERNANDES
The Calangute block congress and congress workers have strongly condemn the statement made by Minister Michael Lobo during the programme organised for the inauguration of the Ganesh Visarjan ramp at Saipem,Candolim.
Stating that as a public representative and being a cabinet Minister in the Dr.Pramod Sawant led BJP government ,Lobo has failed to follow due protocol and necessary ethics and morality.
He was publicly instigating and inciting people to do unlawful acts by telling them to _*throw Agnelo in the crocodile infested waters_* “,so that bodily harm or injury or death could be caused by such an act” Said president of calangute block congress Benedict D’Souza
Stating that such behaviour is synonymous to the drug lord ‘Pablo Escobar’. The block congress has strongly condemned and demanded action against the public representative for instigating and encouraging people to do such an unlawful activity while also failing to maintain the religious sanctity of the place.
This reflects on the culture of this BJP government wherein their own Minister is encouraging people to do a criminal act”
Dsouza further said This BJP government is well known to silence and harass its critics and opponents by its dictatorial attitude and have become intolerant to constructive criticism that they would go to any extent to destroy those who speak against them.
Stating that Lobo is rattled with the increasing support and popularity that the Congress party and its present leaders in Calangute constituency have gained, and sensing his personal defeat in the forthcoming assembly elections ,he [Lobo] is so frustrated that he is trying unlawful means to silence his political opponents.
The block congress has appealed to the people to be cautious and be vigilant as ,the law and order in Calangute constituency has reached to an abysmally low level and crime rate has drastically increased under the leadership of the tainted incumbent BJP Calangute MLA and further stated that such behaviour and culture is very dangerous in a healthy democracy.
The block congress demands strict action against the Minister for his utterances and encouraging people to do crime.
The Calangute congress block president has also said that they would not be cowed down and get intimidated by such threats and tactics by Lobo, on any of its leaders,workers or supporters and vowed to solidly rally behind the congress leaders and each of their supporters and well-withers and the party and further stated that the people of the constituency are completely fed up of his reign of fear and terror and the harassment caused by him while he is misusing power.
