Saligao: NCP has demanded with the chief minister to submit an affidavit to goa government stating to the parents of the children that all the SOP’s will be strictly followed in the schools as the government has allowed schools to re-open in the state despite COVID 19 positive cases rising
it may be noted that the Goa government had decided to reopen the schools for physical classes for students from 9 to 12 from October 18, 2021. The schools will be reopened with strict Covid-19 SOPs. In an order issued the state Director of Education, Bhushan Savaikar had said that the state government has decided to reopen the schools for physical classes after consulting the expert committee.
addressing a news conference at Mapusa NCP general secretary Sanjay barde said that the the assembely session was curtailed due to fear of the spread of COVID-19 inspite of the assembley hall being so large where there could have been proper social dsitancing maintained
the classrooms of the school which are not as spacious as the assembley hall will accomodate so many students and one teacher so while accomodating the students in the classroom there will be no proper social distancing maintianed which will put the lives of the students at risk ” said Barde
“will the chief minister take the responsibility of the lives children because as a parent i feel that during the COVID-19 pandemic the chief minster had failed to provide the required assistance to the people” Barde further said
“the parents of the children purchased expansive smart phones for their children for their online classes now there are only three months left for the students to study as their final exams will be march so if the parents have made so much sacrifices for their children to purchase smart phone what was the need for the government to re-open schools for physical classes? questioned barde
“i request the opposition parties to please write to the chief minister not to play with lives of the students by permitting them to attend physical classes as COVID -19 positive cases are still on the rise
” Speaking further Barde also appealed to the teachers teaching in the schools to also strictly adhere to COVID 19 SOP’s while teaching students in the school
