CONGRESS URGES CM TO STOP FLIGHTS FROM COUNTRIES AFFECTED BY NEW VARIANT
MAPUSA: The North Goa Congress District Committee President, Vijay Bhike urged Chief Minister, Pramod Sawant to stop flights coming from countries which are affected by the new coronavirus infection. With great difficulty the situation had come under control in the state after several lives were lost.
“Congress makes a humble request to the Chief Minister to stop flights from those countries affected by the new variant. We should try and prevent the new variant from entering our state. The life of every Goan is precious so kindly act immediately in this matter. We demand rigorous screening and testing especially of all travellers coming from countries which are affected by the new coronavirus infection,” sought Bhike in a press note released on Sunday.
“In view of the threat from the new COVID-19 variant from African countries, we request the government to seek advice from experts and act accordingly. I would also like to suggest to our Goan brethren to take the necessary steps to protect yourself and your family from this deadly virus,” he added.
