PANAJI: Pedestrian pathways used by residents to reach their homes in Cumbharjua will soon be covered with inter-locking pavers, according to a proposal by the local panchayat.
The Congress leader from Cumbharjua constituency, Samil Volvoikar recently inaugurated laying of pavers work at Golwada, Cumbharjua recently.
“For several years these traditional accesses and pathways which connect different areas were not developed. These pavers are being laid as the internal roads are very narrow and tarring of the roads is not possible. In the future such works will be initiated with the NOC from the panchayat and taking into confidence the local residents and property owners,” said Volvoikar.
He said that paving the pathways with inter-locking pavers would add to the charm of the village and also make it safer for residents walking along that path.
Also present was the Sarpanch, Bindi Parab; Deputy Sarpanch, Nandakumar Shet; panch members, Vilan Parab and Prashant Bhandary along with the locals.
