LEADERS DO NOT WIN ELECTIONS, PARTY WORKERS DO: CHIDAMBARAM

MAPUSA: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) Senior Election Observer, P. Chidambaram assured party workers from Sankhalim Block that the party organization will play an important role in the selection of candidates for the Goa assembly elections.

“We will select a candidate from the recommendations about potential candidates made by the party workers but need the entire block to work in tandem to bring the selected candidate into power. We need to reach voters in every nook and corner of Goa in order to oust BJP. We are determined to win Sankhalim. If we win Goa, we win India,” senior AICC election observer to Goa, told party workers at Sankhalim during a meeting held on Saturday evening.

“Once the party announces a candidate, all the party workers must abide by the party. We are all one and united in the party. We must work together for the Congress party to emerge victorious, “he added.

During his two-day visit in Goa, Chidambaram interacted with Congress party workers, office bearers and leaders, gearing them for the upcoming elections 2022. He listened to their grievances, suggestions and recommendations but at the same time boosted their morale.

He also asked the party workers to work round the clock, bring about improvement and reach out to the voters with policies and programmes.

At the occasion Vice Chairperson Sakhli Municipal Council, Rajesh Sawal was inducted into the party.

Present at the meeting was GPCC Senior VP, M K Shaik; North Goa Congress District Committee President, Vijay Bhike; Gen Sec, Kemblo Sawat; Gen Sec, Sunita Verekar; EX MLA, Pratap Gawas; EX MLA, Sadanad Malik; Block President, Mangaldas Naik; Pravin Blagan, Ex Chairperson, Dharmesh Saklani, Spokesperson Khedekar and others were present.
