Calangute: The Karnataka Border Area Development Authority in association with Akhila Goa Kannada Maha Sangha and All Kannada Organization of Goa organized Kannada Cultural Festival at Sport and cultural center Umata vaddo Calangute.
The Kannada cultural festival was inaugurated by his Divine presence of Poojya Shri Chandrashekhar ShivacharMahaswamiji of Samstana Matha, Kukkeri also Poojya ShriMaheshatmananda Swamiji president Rmakrishna Math and Mission Usagao Risk Goa but due to some other programmesthe Union Minister for state for Tourism shipping and waterways , Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Minister for Ports Michael Lobo could not come for the function.
Speaking at the function His Divine Poojya ShriChandrashekhar Shivachar Mahaswamiji of Samstana Matha, Kukkeri said that the long pending issue of Kannada Bhavan in goa should come up it is almost 40 years this issue is pending . I will initiate and pursue with the Karnataka Government and Goa Government to give us land to construct the Kannada Bhavan ,
He added that todays world our old tradition and culture is being slowing dying we need to have a Kannada Bhavan so that we can organize such programmes and keep the tradition live .Karnataka and Goa has good ties being neighboring states and a Kannada Bhavan will go a long way to strengthen the ties between the two states .
Meanwhile the present of the Kannada Sangh Calangute MuraliMohan Shetty said that there are many Karnataka residents staying in Goa . the Kannada Bhavan will help us to organize our kannada programmes . The Karnataka government had also promised land in Bangaluru to construct a Goa Bhavan there are more than 4000 goans working in Bangaluru will help the goansin Karnataka to organize their programmes . and the Karnataka government had promised 10 crores to purchase and build the Kannada Bhavan in Goa .I thank the Poojya ShriChandrashekhar Shivachar Mahaswamiji of Samstana Matha, Kukkeri of taking the initiate to speak to the Karnataka and goagovernment to construct a Kannada Bhavan in Goa .
