RG SLAMS BJP MLA FOR ABSENCE OF DEVELOPMENT IN ST ANDRE
PANAJI: The Revolutionary Goans St Andre Candidate, Viresh Borkar slams the BJP MLA from St. Andre, Francis Silveira for inefficiency, corruption and for absence of development during the opening of the constituency office near the bypass junction at Goa Velha.
He alleged that over the last decade the number of slums in St Andre Constituency have mushroomed with the patronage of local goons with strong political connections which shields these migrants from the eviction drives carried out by the Government. This shows the political nexus operating which makes it difficult for the enforcement of law.
The Revolutionary Goans Supremo, Manoj Parab highlighted that unemployment was the biggest issue faced by Goans with no proper public toilets, drainage system, roads, water and electricity being made available for the common man.
“Illegal slums have mushroomed during the term of the current MLA. There are several mega constructions either being built or being planned in the village. It was for the first time since Independence that the rate of inflation went into double digit after the BJP was voted into power. The rising prices of petrol, diesel, LPG gas cylinder and other essential commodities has left the common man high and dry,” said Manoj.
While RG leader from St Andre, Viresh opined that it was high time the villages across Goa formally resolved to ban migrants from traditional and tourism-centric businesses. First of all we Goans are facing lack of business opportunities and law and order issues.
“It is time the villages in St Andre ban granting of licenses to migrants for running businesses ranging from fishing to running restaurants. Our local and traditional occupations need to be protected and others should not be allowed to run these activities, directly or indirectly. We need to act before we become strangers in our own land,” signed of Viresh.
