NORTH CONGRESS BLOCK TO FILE WRIT PETITION IN HIGH COURT IN JOB SCAM
MAPUSA: The North Goa District President, Vijay Bhike threatened to file a writ petition in the High Court against the unconstitutional method followed by the BJP government over recruitment for jobs at GMC, police department, PWD and Directorate of Accounts. He alleged that jobs should be given on merit and cannot be given to people from one constituency alone or on the payment of bribe.

A memorandum will be submitted to CM and Chief Secretary on Wednesday demanding the State government to immediately issue a white paper on the employment scenario in Goa, the party has also demanded that the government take swift action against those involved in employing outsiders as well as the concerned ministers involved in this huge job scam. We also seek an independent inquiry into the matter and removal of the concerned people involved in this scam.
Everyone is aware that the BJP led governments is involved in selling posts, conducting manipulated exams and leaving deserving candidates unemployed.

BJP MLAs and well as the Chief Minister himself continues to sell government jobs in the state leaving meritorious students frustrated. There is a need to file a case of extortion against the ministers involved in selling the posts.

“I express deep concern over these illegal activities that embodies a serious act of fraud conducted by the BJP government. I would appreciate it if the government would ensure a thorough and impartial investigation into this matter. There is a need to put a full stop to such kind of anti-people policies of the BJP government,” said Bhike while addressing the media at the Congress office on Tuesday.

“Last year in December, the high court of Bombay at Goa in an order cancelled the appointment of 32 assistant data entry operators who were fraudulently appointed by the former power minister Milind Naik who deliberately tweaked the selection process to favour those close to him,” added Bhike.
The PWD Minister, Deepak Pauskar also has sold engineer posts and is involved in an alleged recruitment scam to the tune of Rs 70-crores. If no action is initiated in this matter we will approach the Election Commission as well as file a writ petition in the High Court to seek justice in this matter. Deserving candidates are frustrated with the high sum of bribes being demanded by BJP MLAs, including the Chief Minister’s office.
It has come to our notice that the government is committed to selling jobs and compromising with the future of Goan youth. Narendra Modi government promised 1 crore jobs every year during their election campaign but the unemployment rate in the country is reaching an all-time high.
While Vice President GPCC, Agnelo Fernandes remarked that first of all several have lost their jobs and the income of 90 per cent of families was reduced during the Covid-19 pandemic these MLA’s are asking for bribes.
“When people were struggling to survive, the BJP government hiked the prices of fuel, LPG cylinders, edible oil and food grains. One can recall that six months ago Chief Minister himself has revealed that 5,000 people from outside Goa are employed with various companies in the state. Congress intends to take up this issue and seek justice for the deserving youth from the state,” said Agnelo.
CM’s latest initiative of ‘Sarkar tumchya daari’ to every household of Goa is nothing but a gimmick. During these visits also people are being assured government jobs.
Time and again this BJP led government keeps announcing the creation of 10,000 government jobs. They keep giving new dates to start the recruitment process to fill 10,000 vacant government posts, doing away with the moratorium on new recruitment and tendering for new developmental projects.
Also present at the briefing was Secretary NGDCC, Savio Monteiro.

“Last year in December, the high court of Bombay at Goa in an order cancelled the appointment of 32 assistant data entry operators who were fraudulently appointed by the former power minister Milind Naik who deliberately tweaked the selection process to favour those close to him,” added Bhike.
