Underground power cabeling works for Mapusa will  be launched on the  21st of december

cabral was speaking to reporters at the sidelines of Inauguration of Material Recovery facility and 5 TPD Bio – Methanation plant at Cunchelim Mapusa also present were chairperson of the Mapusa municipal council Shubangi Vaigankar, Mapusa MLA Joshua D’souza and the councillors. MMC Chief Officer Shri Sitaram Sawal, MMC Municipal Engineer Grade 1 Shri Hussain Shah Muzawar, MMC Councillors and Ward members

“even Though Mapusa is a small town there are a lot of consumers and the cost is also a lot so we will put the foundation and we will be laid as the work order is issued”  said cabral

the 133 crore tender issued for the works of laying of the under ground cabeling will be inaugrated on the 21st of december which will include two phases which will include the  11kVA  transformer connected to the substation  once the  underground power cabeling works commences

also to solve  problems of constant power fluctuations so our  the department has installed 10 to eleven new power  transformers plus the old transformers have been upgraded which will help in solving the power issues and also Mapusa once the undergound power cables are laid” said cabral

“i have told the MLA of Mapusa that we will put the transformers but we dont have the land to set up the transfomer so the people should give us some 10 to 15 square meters of land for putting up the the transformer” cabral further said

“every one wants electricity but when our department officials go to put up the poles and when the land is willing to be given the people are objecting  to it so electriicy cannot be given by air” said cabral
when questioned about the the non functioning  LED street lights  and whether the issue of the non function street lights will be resolved before the chirstmas season Cabral admitted  that there problems with the  concept LED lights and said that the problem will be rectified at the earliest and urged the people  to call up on the help line number to in case of the  non functioning of street lights
