The Festival of Stars and carol singing competition an event organized by Parra Citizens’ association in collaboration with the parra panchayat on Thursday received a very good response as a large number of people participated the the competition .
Close to 2,000 people participated in the former and 15 groups participated in the latter. beautiful stars were put up along the pavement in parra showcasing the creativity of the local youth . also the groups belted out some beautiful christmas carols. Calangute MLA Michael lobo along with Parra sarpanch Delilah lobo graced the occasion and distributed prizes to the winning groups .
Addressing the gathering, calangute MLA Michael lobo said that Christmas is a festival, which gives a message of love, sacrifice and service to humanity and that people of different faiths come together, which is the strength of Goa.
