Noida 26 December. Awadhesh Bhargava was elected unopposed in the election for the post of President of the Indian Federation of Working Journalists (IFWJ).
The announcement of the unopposed election of Mr. Bhargava was made by the Central Electoral Officer, CRO Shankar Dutt Sharma, in the meeting of the Working Committee of the organization at Noida Media Club. In the meeting, the proposal and support of Mr. Bhargava’s name was associated with the organization and the Trade Union Act in his state. The two-day working committee meeting of all the states was concluded today at Noida Media Club. In which representatives of ten states were present on the spot and 8 states virtually participated.
In the meeting, the Central Returning Officer Sharma, while announcing that Mr. Bhargava was elected unopposed, said that during the election nomination process, the support letters of 10 states were attached with the nomination papers of Mr. Bhargava. Bhargava was set to be elected as the president. But before the announcement by some states, Vikram Rao and Parmanand Pandey were once again requested to hold talks regarding the interest of the organization. After which a four-member delegation was formed and sent for talks. When no positive response was received, it was decided to announce the election of the President in the meeting of the Working Committee of the States.
Mr. Bhargava has been working in the field of journalism for 50 years and has been fighting for the interests of journalists for 30 years. The representatives of the states congratulated Mr. Bhargava on becoming the president unopposed.
According to the CRO, the election of the remaining office bearers will be done in the next month’s meeting of the organization.
