What do you do when someone makes an obscene gesture or touches you inappropriately?? Caring Souls advice you to tackle the situation head-on using self defence techniques with the help of project SANISHTA. Caring Souls organized a week-long self-defence training workshop for women and girls. The workshop was organized in association with the Yongmudo association of Goa & Dustbin group from 20th December 2021 to 26th December 2021 at Shree Bhumika High School, Parye Sattari Goa.
For the inaugural function, group of girls presented a welcome song and guests lit the traditional lamp. social worker Divya Rane, ZP Member Sagun Wadkar, Sarpanch of Village panchayat Parye Sakha Sawant, Nikhil Dixit President of Caring Souls, Vishant Solyekar, Secretary of Yongmudo association of Goa & Pritesh Patil, President of Dustbin Group were present.
“Rape cases, injustice with girls & women are increasing rapidly.
We shouldn’t keep quiet. We should raise our voice. If we take action only then they will be scared. Such workshop will boost your confidence. I will always encourage and support to organize more Such camps.”, says Divya Rane.
Speaking on the occasion, The coach for the camp Vishant Solyekar demonstrated the self-defence techniques and various kinds of styles of Martial arts with the help of his power-packed trained students.
Karate, punching, kicking, judo, kusti, kalaripayatti, Boxing we’re the main styles thought throughout the workshop. The main motive behind this project was to make girls and women aware about their power and to teach them self shielding techniques which can be used in any sudden difficult situation which also helped the participants to face situation confidently. Around 60 girls and women were part of the SANISHTA project.
At the end of 7 days workshop all the students were given certificate of appreciation and momentos as a token of love.
