Goa state is seeing a very disturbing trend of political parties pasting stickers on public property like bridges, walls and flyovers during the ongoing election campaign.
President of Active Mapusa Citizens Association (AMCA Mr. Yogesh Kelkar, ) had first raised this issue over social media and print media on 11th December 2021.
The members of AMCA pursued the matter further and made letters to Collector’s office on 21st December 2021 requesting to take strict action in this matter. Subsequently they discussed this issue with the District Collector. Giving further update on the issue,
AMCA President, Mr. Yogesh Kelkar said “We are glad that the authorities have taken cognizance of the letters made by us and are thankful that the Honorable Chief Minister Dr.Pramod Sawant has directed the officials to take strict action against the offenders.” He further said that we are not against any political party. We are for Goa and Goans and will keep fighting and raising issues which concern Goa, its culture and heritage.
He also said that ‘Goenkarponn’ should not be used only as a slogan or tagline but should be imbibed amongst Goans and be reflected through our thoughts and actions.
