*The BJP government’s bus stand in Mapusa is nothing more than a scam,
says Rahul Mhambre*
The AAP Goa Convener Rahul Mhambre on Friday asserted that the so-called ‘bus stand’ in Mapusa that was inaugurated by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday morning was locked by the evening. The BJP government’s bus stand in Mapusa is nothing more than a scam.
While addressing the media on Friday Mhambre said, “Even smaller towns within Goa itself have better bus stands than this one in Mapusa. Mapusa’s MLA Joshua D’souza and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant have disrespected and insulted the people of Mapusa by constructing such an interim bus stand”.
“This is not a bus stand. Those are literally just roof sheds at a crematorium. Why did the BJP government spend 3 crores of rupees for such a bus stand? The buses haven’t begun running yet, there was no need to put pavers. Meanwhile, the BJP which is in the midst of an inauguration spree in Goa ahead of elections, went ahead with its inauguration program”, Mhambre added.
He further said, “Even CM Pramod Sawant admits that Mapusa is not developed. The BJP government has ruled the city for over 20 years and has failed to develop the city”.
“The Mapusa people were shocked when CM Sawant stated that his government was unable to find a land for Ravindra Bhavan. Ravindra Bhavan has been a topic in BJP government manifesto for several years. This shows how the BJP government isn’t capable of handling Mapusa. Mapusa deserves alternative leadership”, he added.
He said, “We don’t have a public toilet in the Mapusa market and here the BJP government dreams of building a bus stand and Ravindra Bhavan. Lots of projects haven’t seen the light of day and the BJP government is busy inventing new ones”.
