Adv. Carlos Ferreira eager to work for people of Aldona.
ALDONA: Newly nominated Congress candidate from Aldona Constituency Carlos Alvares Ferreira who had begun his campaign in the Aldona constituency some months back has renewed his campaign with fresh vigour and enthusiasm.
An elated Ferreira, whose name was declared as part of the Congress 5th list of candidates vowed to take forward the issues of the people of the constituency.
“I have been receiving a tremendous response during my visits to the homes and families of the constituency. The entire constituency was waiting with bated breath for the party to announce my name as the candidate. It was almost a celebration when my name was announced. Wherever I go I am received with a broad smile and greeted with great happiness” Ferreira said upon being announced as the Congress candidate.
Ferreira thanked the Congress leadership and for having entrusted with him the responsibility of leading the party in Aldona constituency.
“I wish to extend my thanks to party president Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, the Congress central leadership, Goa Election in charge and former Union Minister Mr P Chidambaram, Goa Desk in-charge Dinesh Gundu Rao, State leadership Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat, GPCC president Girish Chodankar and constituency level leaders Amarnath Panjikar, Ashwin de Souza and Tarak Arolkar,” Ferreira said.
“I promise to repay the faith bestowed upon me and the responsibilities entrusted to me by the Congress leadership and ensure that the party is victorious in my historical constituency called Aldona,” Ferreira said.
“The constituency has been neglected for the last ten years with several projects stalled, the market in a dilapidated condition, no bus stand, as well as the youth facing problems of unemployment, lack of employment opportunities and lack of career guidance. I plan to rectify all this and help the youth of the constituency find the right platform to launch out into the world with confidence,” Ferreira said.
Ferreira has been working in the constituency for several years now reaching out to people calling on them at their homes.
“People are eager to see change and want a new kind of politics, a politics of principles and of respect for values and not the politics of selling Goa at any cost available. It is my promise that I will bring back respectability in politics, where politics is fought on people’s issues rather than on what the MLA wants,” Ferreira said.
