PANAJI: The Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) on Tuesday released their vision document for the Goa assembly polls. Outlining their vision to rebuild the state they have prepared a 31 point vision document that will benefit Goans; especially farmers, youth, businessmen, women as well as protect the environment, upgrade the transport and health care system.
The successive governments in the state has failed to implement a vision or policy for the state. It has been observed that they are only minting money and increasing their assets.
“Though Goa’s economy is driven by the tourism sector, barely anything has been done to promote this industry. RGP in their vision plan assures to redraft the Goa Tourism Policy 2020 and also the Goa Tourism Master Plan (GTMP) to suit local culture, heritage, ethos and environment. We will focus on nature–based tourism and cultural tourism to reinvent Goaas a tourist destination,” said RG Supremo, Manoj Parab while addressing the media in the capital city.
The Transport department will be modernized and made sensitive towards the needs of the public. Public transport connectivity will be improved and the introduction of E-Rickshaws, E—Stations and E-vehicles will be promoted and encouraged across the state. This vision document also assures to scrap Goa Miles App Aggregator.
Coming to the health-care sector, RGP will ensure that the latest medical diagnostic and treatment facilities with adequate trained staff is made available at the taluka level, which will reduce the burden on Goa Medical College and District Hospitals.
“While, mining through state Mining Corporation which is already notified will be kicked off. We will set a realistic time-frame of restarting mining. Till then mining dependents will be given special training and seed capital to start other small scale businesses to take care of their livelihood,” pointed out Manoj.
“Law and order in Goa is in shambles and need a total revamp to make the enforcement agencies more efficient, citizen friendly, responsible, accountable and friendly to the law abiding citizens and terror to law breakers,” he added.
Lastly, RGP firmly believes that corruption is an evil that is now allowing good governance and justice to the people to prevail.
“We will try our best to weed out corruption in Goa which is the root cause for the downfall of this tiny state. To strengthen real democracy all our elected representatives will stand united and committed. We will not defect or switch to any other party,” said Manoj.
Also present were RGP General Secretary, Mayur Arseka; RGP St Andre candidate, Viresh Borkar and Priol candidate Vishvesh Naik.
