PANAJI: Congress party’s Goa desk in-charge Dinesh Gundu Rao said that the party will win at least 4-5 seats in Bardez in the forthcoming assembly elections.
He was speaking while canvassing for Saligao Congress candidate Kedar Naik.
“There is no doubt that Kedar will win with a majority. Congress is confident of winning at least 4-5 seats in Bardez taluka. There is a wave against BJP. They want an alternative government. And only Congress can achieve this. Other parties like TMC and AAP do not have the capability of forming a government. The fight is between Congress and BJP,” he said.
Kedar began his door to door campaign In Pilerne by offering prayers at the Shantadurga Temple.
“People are telling me that they will vote for me, provided you do not be like the previous MLA who did not show his face for the past five years. They had voted for the previous MLA by placing their trust in him. I assure the people that I will remember their valuable votes and I will work wholeheartedly for the next five years. There is so much support not only in Reis Magos and Pilerne, Nerul and Saligao but even in Sangolda and Guirim,” he said.
Sarpanch of Pilerne-Marra panchayat Sandeep Bandodkar said that people of Pilerne will give a good lead for Kedar in the elections.
“So many people have gathered here, which indicates the support that Kedar enjoys. People know what the previous MLA has done, and hence they know that the past mistakes should not repeat itself. There is no doubt that Kedar will win. All the panchayat members are backing him. We had formed the Together For Saligao platform as our trust was breached. We are extending our support to Kedar,” he said.
