In order to teach the BJP a lesson the taxi operators have decided to field a Congress candidate or a competent candidate from their constituency, said leader of taxi operators Bappa korgaonkar at a press conference in Calangute .
Rohidas Naik, Yogesh Govekar, Jaydev Shirodkar and other taxi officials were present on the occasion.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has wiped out taxi operators in Goa and Bappa Korgaonkar said that a strong party like Congress is needed to teach a lesson to the BJP government which is trying to end the Goan taxi business.
Yogesh Govekar said that it is time to teach a lesson to the BJP government which started app-based taxi service in Goa and tried to shut down the business of the locals.
Congress candidate Michael lobo also came out in support of the taxi operators and said that he will work towards solving the issue of the taxi operators and scrap the app based taxi service which the so called double engine government under Pramod sawant has been supporting.
