Calangute MLA Michael Lobo who was re-elected as the MLA of the Calangute constituency for another term said that the Congress party will strive to play a constructive role of opposition in the legislative assembley for the next five years

Lobo was speaking to reporters at the sidelines of a victory rally organised by the calangute congress block to celebrate the victory of congress candidate michael lobo who was re elected as the MLA of calangute after defeating his opponent from the BJP Jospeh sequeira the rally commenced from the Shantadurga temple at calangute and finally ended at baga beach . a large number of congress supporters took part in the rally was taken out after he won the elections from calangute
“the people of calangute consituency have reposed their faith in me and the congress party and this victory is of the people, and the youth and all the Mahilas who have elected me with a lead of more than 5000 votes and this historic lead will go down history and i am thankful to the people of calangute consituency for electing me” said Lobo
the people of Goa have given the BJP mandate and we wish them all the very best but we will strive to play the role of a consturctive role of opposition in the next five years
when questioned as to whether he would be vying for the post of the opposition leader in the legislative assembly lobo said that he was ready to accept whatever responsibility the party gives him and said that he will take it ahead
” i feel that Goa needs to have a constructive opposition which we had not seen over the past many years” said lobo.
