PANAJI: A free workshop on value addition in jackfruit and cashew cultivation will be organised by Aldona Constituency Farmers’ Forum in association with Aldona MLA Carlos Alvares Ferreira and Aldona Institute.
The workshop will be held on May 5, 3pm onwards, at Aldona Institute, and will be conducted by Sunetra Talaulikar, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (North Goa) under ICAR-CCARI, Old Goa.
The workshop is open to farmers owning jackfruit and cashew trees as well as other people.
“We tend to leave such things to the mercy of God and nature to allow our jackfruit and cashew trees to grow. But we never use the right techniques in getting quality fruit and good quantity of yield. This workshop is the first in a series which we are commencing to educate and instruct our young and senior farmers in the trade to benefit from this interaction,” Ferreira said.
