Porvorim MLA and IT Minister Rohan Khaunte has urged the pachayats in Porvorim to work as a formidable panchayat inorder to ensure that garbage management is taken to the next level
khaunte was speaking to reporters at the inauguration of garbage management equipments and e- rickshaw in the Penha de Franca panchayat areas in the presence of sarpanch Manisha Naik, and ZP Kavita Naik and the panch members of Penha de Franca.
“very soon there will be the panchayat elections and so the like minded panch members who are in our team should work towards a formidable panchayat to ensure that we take garbage management to the next level” said Khaunte.
so the infrastructure which has been undertaken for doing garbage segregation disposal should be put to best use and how we can give it back to the people” khaunte further said.
solid waste management will go to the next level and I am happy that the Penha de france Village panchayat sarpanch and all the panch members have done a commendable job in terms of waste management ” said khaunte.
“we will also try and see how best this sample of garbage collection system could also be replicated in the socorro and Salvador du mundo panchayat areas” Khaunte further said.
“As i have been always said that just as the panchayat and the local MLA are working togather we also need the assistance of the locals in terms of garbage collection and segregation” khaunte further said.
speaking further Khaunte said that he would also speak to the waste management minister Atanasio Monseratte and will try and improvise at this point post the panchayat elections inorder to ensure that they will be able to create better garbage infrastructure for people.
“I am happy the way the Penha de franca panchayat has improved in the past five years with their common agenda of a clean and green Porvorim and i congratulate the panchayat for this initiative of providing the garbage management equipments” khaunte further said.
