The Ambeachem fest mango festival was held on 8th may 2022 sharp at montfort academy corlim Tiswadi Goa. The bolcaocho Gozali was held under a mango tree with Minguel Braganza talking about care and conservation of the tree including removal of weeds (benol) from the tree at regular intervals with language instructor and Tv anchor Gwenn Gomes.
This was followed by a mango tree walk with Dr Maryanne Lobo. ICAR old Goa displayed mango sapling and variety of mangoes and scientiest Mrs Surendra Talaulikar demonstrated several dishes of sweets and drinks made of mangoes at the festival.
Activities at the fest included caricature and fun shop by we’ll known cartoonist Alexyz, molla making, rotesao, flower garland of abolim etc
The festival started with the musical song channaichem rati with ghumot and kottieo there was also a grafting session by Mrs priyanka naik followed by kottieo dance session on football skills with veteran football coaches fabian dsouza and Augustine dias of Goa united football academy. Bombay returnee multi saxophone player Mr Austin fernandes held a discussion with Arturo dsouza.
Konkani songs by person with disability Mrs Audrey pereira,(thivim) and saish Gauthankar (NAB) pomburpa was performed at the fest.
The festival also had Balcaocho Gozaali by writer and performer Baba prasad with senior Journalist Mr prakash Kamat followed by dance by his formers troupe.
Pranil Karanjalkar a professional Ghumot player and his group presented a skit and a musical performance. There was products and skills by person with disability including those with low vision Autism.
A variety of Mangoes and mango products and mango Grafts was also on sale there will also be local home cooked organic goan food, predominantly. Ghumtacho Nazz was led by Dr Glenis Mendonca and percussionist Inacio madeira.
