The illegal and unauthorized construction of Goa Bagayatdar Bazaar on the Ground floor of Raj Raunak building at Dhuler, Shetyevado, Mapusa has been ordered to be removed or demolished within a fortnight by the mapusa Municipal council Chief Officer Sitaram Sawal, complainant Siddhi Naik ahs informed .
Social worker Sudesh Tivrekar was present with her at this time.According to information provided by Sudesh Tivrekar, the Raj Raunak building at Dhuler Mhapsa is owned by Rajmi Rajesh Narvekar, who illegally built a sub-floor on the ground floor of the building, without any setback on all four sides of the building and the market was leased to this reputed institution. Right to Information Activists Jawaharlal Shetye and Siddhi Naik had lodged several complaints with the Mapusa Municipality on 07/10/2019 about the illegal construction after it was noticed that the customers were parking on the road as there was no parking facility inside the building.
Taking note of this complaint, Mapusa Municipal council Chief officer Sitaram Sawal declared the construction illegal as per section 184 (8) of Goa Municipal Act 1968 and ordered that the builders should remove or demolish the illegal construction within 15 days from the date of order but the failure to do so resulted in mapusa Municipality having to cancel the construction and recover the cost, said Siddhi Naik in an order dated May 6, 2022..
