Leader of Opposition Michael Lobo on Thursday demanded to know how the same officers who had approved the ODPs (outline development plans  are now cancelling them and castigated the town and country  Planning Department’s action of suspending the ODPs for Parra-Arpora-Nagoa, Calangute-Candolim and Vasco
addressing a press conference Lobo said that the ODP’s were approved by the BJP-led government and by the same officers  who have now cancelled it.such an action is sending wrong signal amongst the investors, whose investment is at stake in the green industry projects in this belt and the  the allegations leveled against  me of converting the tanented land as settlement zone is absolutely wrong as there are directions that the Tanented lands should be treated as Orchards” said lobo speaking further, Michael lobo who is also the MLA of Calangute  said that he not be targeted as he was never a part of the committee that drafted ODPs. “The plans were drafted by then TCP minister Chandrakant Kavlekar and  the than NGPDA Chairman was Francis Silveira” Lobo stated Lobo also questioned the silence of the  media the MLAs over the 400 FAR to Old Goa area which he had objected during his tenure.The MLA said that frequent changes in the  outline development plans is not a good sign and he would be approaching chief minister Pramod Sawant and TCP Minister Vishwajit Rane for redressal.Lobo said that there is ‘ulterior motive’ behind such actions and TCP department is also “trying to fool the people and harassing the local buisnessmen ”
