Saligao MLA kedar naik said that the people must take the initiative to try and grow as many trees as possible as trees provide us with oxygen As part of the Van mahotsav celebrations the Pilerne VP organised  a tree plantation drive on Saturday.
The celebrations were organised by the Pilerne panchayat in Collaboration with Berger becker coatings limited at the Maina Navetim  Hindu crematorium.
Present for the celebrations were sarpanch of Pilerne sandeep Bandodkar, panch member karan Govekar members of the VDC committee, Saligao MLA Kedar Naik and others
” we are doing a lot to save environment as when more trees are cut we have to grow more trees” said Sarpanch Sandeep Bandodkar
we see a lot of defroesration happening and when deforestration happens global warming increases as temperature increases which results in the melting of the glaciers and also cutting of trees leads to a lot of flooding” Govekar further said
