VOTE FOR HONEST, NON-CORRUPT CANDIDATES, ALDONA MLA URGES VOTERS
PANAJI: As 186 panchayats across the state go to polls on August 10, Aldona MLA Adv Carlos Alvares Ferreira urged citizens to vote for honest and non-corrupt candidates.
He also urged voters to come out in large numbers and exercise their franchise.
“I request you not to sit at home. Don’t let your votes get divided. Some contestants have been fielded with the sole aim of dividing votes and ensuring the defeat of deserving candidates,” said the Congress MLA.
The first-time Aldona legislator appealed to citizens to vote for those who will work for the people and bring government schemes to their doorstep.
“I urge citizens to vote for clean, honest and non-corrupt candidates. Vote out goons. Don’t allow family raj to prosper. Some candidates will make false promises, beware of them as they will turn their back against you once they are elected. Keep in mind your ward, your village, your constituency, and choose your candidate because your future panch member will rule for the next five years. Touch your conscience and cast your vote,” he added.
The results of the elections will be declared on August 12.
