A meeting was chairned by sarpanch Joseph sequeira along with Calangute traffic PI Shitakant Nayak and panch members
sarpanch Jospeh sequeira pointed out to the traffic PI that during the tourism season parking in  Calangute has become real a nighmare  as more than 60% of the parking area is occupied illegally by rent-a-bikes and rent-a-cars making it difficult for the tourists and locals to find parking in Calangute  he said that most of the areas such as the main road from Tinto to Calangute beach is occupied by illegal parking thus making it a nightmare for locals and tourists to find parking. He also pointed out to the PI over the haphazard parking of vehicles at the famous holiday street as vehicles were parked on both the sides of the street and urged the PI to intiate some action. has resolved not to permit tourist buses to travel on interior roads of calangute as they are creating a lot of traffic problems
further sequeira also pointed out that the locals going to the Calangute fish and vegetable market cannot find a suitable parking and some prefer to walk to the fish and vegetable markets and so to prevent this menace the panchayat will try and erect no paking signages at the market to prevent the haphazard parking . panch member Filomena Fernandes also pointed out about the traffic mess at the titos lane and said that the road leading to the titos lane should be made only one way so as to prevent the traffic mess in the upcoming tourist season
during the meeting panch member swapnesh Vaigankar also requested the traffic PI to initiate action agqains the tour and travel buisness as they were the ones permitting heavy buses to enter the village and creating traffic congestion sequira assured of writing to the deputy collector to premit only route buses and no heavy inter state tourist buses as they create a problem.
panch member savio Gonsalves requested also pointed out to the traffic mess at the parking near the the little of Jesus high school sequeira assured panch member savio gonsalves that an inspection of the area could be carried out to find out a solution to this problem .the panchayat has assured of providing all the assistance to the Calangute traffic cell inorder to find a solution to the parking mess
