DO NOT DISPLACE GOANS NOR DESTROY CULTURE SAYS ASHA NGO
Goa for goans means do not displace ethnic Goans as village communities who are co-owenrs of the land in whole of goa nor destroy our Goan culture NGO Asha has stated in reply to the statement of Hon governor of of Goa.
president of NGO Asha Rui Da gama has shot a letter dated 27th septmeber requesting the GOvernor to preserve land of GOa ethenic community as a tribal area under article 244 of the constitution of india.
in the letter Rui Dgama has further stated for centuries as the rulers such as Bhoja, kadambas,and portuguese who invaded Goa did not intefere with land holdings culture and indentity of Goan ethenic communities.
the NGO has further stated that there has not been any grant of land to the village communities/ communidades by the central nor Goa governemnt from 1968 as the goa government infilterated to grab ethnic community land by introducing the land revenue Code, panchayat raj act regisrration act and form I and 14 to place occupiers on comunity land which is against united ntions convention for protection of ethnic communities where india is a signatory
“article 300 A of the constitution gives the goan village communities the right to hold thier properties under their ownership we goans are not against other people nor their cultures however the metorpolitan culture has a lot of evil and Goans prefer to maintin their culture language and indentiy as ethnic village communities” said D,Gama
NGO Asha has also sought an appointment with the Governor to explain the sentiments of the goan ethnic communities
