Congress leader Vijai bhike on Saturday said that the shadow ‘shadow cabinet’ which will be formed shortly will act as effective opposition to keep a check on the wrong doings of the government and also to put pressure on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government.
“”In an unpopular government like this, corruption is on height. So the concept of a shadow cabinet is direly needed, so that every single department can be put under vigil and which will forbid the government from getting involved in corruption” said bhike while addressing a press conference at the north Goa district congress office at Mapusa
Speaking further Bhike said that the opposition legislators will be performing as shadow ministers behind each real minister We will stay together and be a strong opposition in the assembly” bhike further said We expect that our MLAs will be effective and after the formation of the shadow cabinet and allocation of ministries to the MLA’s they will be able to study and focus on interventions and debate in the state assembly So that there is pressure on the government” bhike futher said
