It may be recalled that the Calangute Panchayat had written a letter to the executive engineer of PWD Mapusa and had requested the assistant engineer to repair the roads beginning from Calangute market junction upto calangute beach and from the saint Alex church upto saint Anthony chapel and from bodko vod upto saint Alex church and from holiday street at Gauravaddo calangute and from boa viagem to creation home But till date the PWD failed to repair the said roads
“We have now decided to march to the office of the PWD with black flags and have a dharna in and out of the PWD office for the whole day” said sarpanch Joseph Sequeira
Calangute is known to be a tourist destination and most of the revenue comes from Calangute Panchayat but the PWD has only become a silent spectator and the people are cursing the panchayat and the concerned ward members for not repairing the above roads as the public is not aware as to whom the road belongs” sequeira Further said
