Calangute Sarpanch Joseph sequeira has said that the panchayat has floated the tender to procure 4 more trucks to carry the garbage from calangute to the site
A meeting of calangute sarpanch joseph sequeira along with the officials of the Goa state waste management corporation was held over the issue of the garbage collection trucks which were in a bad condition as all the leachate and garbage was falling on the road. The officials said that it was good that they were doing it. The panchayat also showed them the plan of the garbage as to how the panchayat was segregating it. sarpanch also told the officials that at late night the panchayat will start collecting wet garbage from all the hotels. Another issue raised with the officials of the pollution control board was regarding the smell which is coming for two wards of calangute which is Gauravaddo east and west and even near the sea. The officials from the Goa state management corporation urged the panchayat to bear with the small and said that the issue will be resolved shortly. Antoher issue raised was about pollution as most of the wells have also been polluted and the panchayat brought them at the site today
“Overall the meeting was fruitful and the polloution control board officials said that the wet and dry Garbage has to be segregated for which we are doing the process and everything has been done over there” said Joseph sequeira
