The villagers of siolim-Marna can now breathe a sigh of relief as the improvement and Re-construction of existing link road leading from Marna road towards Holy Cross School at Sodiem commenced on Saturday
The works were inaugurated at the hands of Siolim MLA Delilah lobo in the presence of siolim sarpanch sharmila vernekar panch member William Fernandes and others. The existing water pipelines along the side of road had been chocked with a lot of dirt and garbage as a result of which the water from the either side of the road could not pass smoothly so the an amount of rs 4.crore 81 lakhs has been passed by the chief minister. While doing the improvement of the link road there will also be footpaths as a lot of foreigners also come to this side of the road only to watch exotic birds and so there will also be a footpath on both the sides of road
“We are thankful to the chief minister for sanctioning this amount and also in the name of the farmers of siolim as for many years their fields were in a pathetic condition” said lobo and also thanked the Assistant Engineer and also the Junior Engineer for taking up the works
This project will be the biggest project with the highest amount and I feel proud that the works are inaugurated by me” said Lobo she further said that the works of laying of underground cables will commence on the 14th November which will help in solving the problems of constant power fluctuations
Panch member William Fernandes also thanked the MLA and the sarpanch for taking up the works on priority
Sarpanch Sharmila Vernekar also thanked MLA Delilah Lobo for taking up the works on priority and paying heed to the demands of the people
