The work of laying Underground Cabling in saligao constituency will be taken up at a cost of Rs 19 crore in each constituency said Power minister Sudhin Dhavlikar ,
He was speaking at the inauguration of the work of conversion of the existing overhead 11 kv line of Nerul and Betim feeder emerging from 33/11kv Saligao sub- station into underground cabling commenced on Monday Also since there is a provision of ring feeder supply there will be flexibility to transfer the load from one feeder to another
Besides power minister also present for the same were saligao MLA, Kedar Naik nerul sarpanch sudesh Govekar, Reis Magos sarpanch Sushmita Pednekar chief electrical engineer Stephen Fernandes, executive engineer Pradeep Narvekar and others The work order amount is rs 18,19,46,733 and the work will be completed within a period of nine months.
On coversion of the existing 11 kv line to underground cabling system at Betim , kegdavalim and Nerul in the Jurisdiction of Reis Magos and Nerul village panchayat these areas will have minimum power interruptions and higher reliability of power as there will be no power outages due to falling of trees, snapping of conductor
“The benefit of this project is for the people in the area of Betim, Nerul, Verem and Kegdavalim of Saligao constituency and the peoples co-operation in completing t he project work is very much essential” said power minister sudhin Dhavlikar
Speaking further Saligao MLA Kedar Naik said that it is a proud moment for the people of saligao as the foundation stone for the project has been laid which will solve the problem of constant power fluctuations especially during the monsoons he further added that the power minister gave him a patient hearing on the issue and tried to start with the work as soon as possible
