Calangute police on Thursday evacuated a total of 12 beggars involved in begging business in Calangute. The drive started from baga Tito’s Lane and ended at the Candolim Beach.
The menace of beggars is one of the chronic problems plaguing Goa. The state, which boasts of its world-class tourism experience has no solution regarding the problem of increasing numbers of beggars.
The Goa Police are trying their bit to curb this menace on Thursday the calangute police nabbed some beggars in the area.
Calangute police said that the beggars and homeless people included some women and children. The children have been sent to Apna Ghar, following all the court guidelines.
Police further informed that the police team will continue such drives to curb the chronic issue of beggars and the homeless in calangute
