A water pipeline in ward number 5 next to Gauns Hospital in Mapusa has busted resulting in wastage of thousands of litres of water due to the shoddy works undertaken by the Electricity Department
Due to the carlessness of the contractor who has been awarded the contract to lay underground electricity cabling the main pipeline supplying water all over mapusa which passes through ward no 5 has bursted and the contract labour has no equipment to detect pipes below ground which they should be using.
“The MLA, PWD minister and the CM are wholly responsible for this kind of pathetic work being done by the Private . Contractors due to which the local PWD officials and local Councilors get pulled up and blamed for all these problems which is completely unwarranted” said councillor shashank narvekar
“Mapusa may go without water for more than 24 hours now because of this negligence and who will compensate the citizens, businesses, hospitals etc for the loss caused? Shame on the BJP Govt” he further said
