Acting on order by the north goa deputy collector the village panchayat of calangute demolished an illegal construction of one mr Rajeev Arora attached next to the iconic Souza Lobo restaurant on the Calangute beach
The demolition squad was led by the secretary of calangute VP Arjun velip the secretary along with squad and machinery reached the site in the morning and carried out the demolition. Adequate police force was also present at the site. the restaurant was erected in Survey no 176/16-B and the VP order had called for demolition of illegal constructions of a metal stage on the beach of approximately 1340 sq mts, illegally erected laterite masonry compound wall and illegally placed stone pavers as pathway on the beach which is in No Development Zone (NDZ) area in survey no 176/16 b of Calangute village.
“we have demolished the entire structure as it was violating CRZ norms and had not obtained any permissions either from the panchayat or from the CRZ so with the help of the police personnel we carried out the demolition” said panchayat secretary Arjun Velip
