Mapusa Cylinder Blast: Restaurant owners arrested for negligence

Mapusa Police have arrested 02 persons in connection with the cylinder blast incident that had happened on 22/01/2023.
As per SDPO Mapusa Jivba Dalvi a blast had happened on 22/01/2023 at around 05 am in morning in Hill Top bar and restaurant located at Breeze Apartments, Dangui Colony, Mapusa – Goa.
Upon the incident police and Fire Services staff swung into action and visited the spot. After conducting detailed inquiry Fire Services have informed that the incident happened due to use of damage hose pipe of LOG cylinder which must have further came in contact with some ignition or spark.
Police after due investigation all other rumours of foul play have been ruled out.
Based on the report of Fire department , police immediately registered FIR under sections 336, 285, 427 R/w 34 IPC.
Both the owners have been arrested immediately by PI Mapusa Paresh Naik.
Police has already wrote to excise department to cancel the excise licence and to Municipality to revoke trade licence.
Further investigation is in progress under the supervision of SDPO Mapusa Jivba Dalvi and SP North Nidhin Valsan IPS.
