Goa police  veterans defeated  siolim veterans  1 -0  to emerge winners of the 1st  quarter finals of the 1st All Goa Agnel (Sulcar) Memorial Cup (Veterans Football Tournament organised by Calangute Veterans held at poriat ground calangute on  Monday .
Goa police vetrans started the first half on a cautious approach  in the first half  and created a lot of chances the Goa police  players kept good possession of the ball and  the strikers made deep runs into the siolim vetrans defence and frequent defensive  blunders by the  siolim  defenders created a chances for  Goa police veterans to capitalise  and they managed to get  the first goal through a superb strike by their star player wilson as he scored from far and directed the ball into the net giving Goa police veterans the lead.  siolim vertrans tried hard to find  the goal to equalise but some resilient defending by the goa police veterans  denied them many chances  and the  first half ended with Goa police veterans leading  

In the second half it was full dominance by  again by the Goa police  veterans as their strikers found some great form and they tried make deep runs into the resilient defence of siolim   but some good  goalkeeping by the  siolim   goal keeper  denied the Goa police vetrans from scoring   the missed chances boosted the morale of the players  but they could not socre any goals and the second half ended with Goa police vetrans still leading and eventually winning the match. former player Nicolas lobo who was the chief guest  gave away  the  man of the  award to chandrashekar shridokar
