Goans will have free entry into the newly renovated donapaula Jetty and entry fees will be charged only for tourists said tourism minister Rohan Khaunte.
Khaunte was speaking to reporters at the sideline of the unveiling the plaque of the newly re developed donapaula jetty (Coastal Circuit II) under the Swadesh Darshan, scheme by Department of Tourism and Goa Tourism Development Corporation Ltd .
“The entry to this new redeveloped jetty is free for Goans and there will be no entry fees for the goans the entry fees which are put up on the boards are only for the tourists visting the this jetty to take photos” said Khaunte
When questioned as to whether the fees put up on the board were exhorbitant khaunte said that the fees were not exhorbitant and said that the fees have been levied by the tourism department for the upkeep and maintainance of the jetty as the department can get some revenue from the fees
Even if the tourist visit Qutub minar in Delhi there are some entry fees charged for the maintenance and upkeep of the place even then that does not deter the tourists from going to visit that place so I don’t think that the tourists will feel a pinch to pay entry fees and enter to visit this newly renovated jetty as we get quality and high spending tourists visiting the state ” said khaunte and added that goans will be allowed free entry
