The Anjuna Caiusa bio diversity committee has opined that Mhadaei River is called the lifeblood of Goa, most of Goa is alive on this river, if the Karnataka government tries to divert the water by building a damn around this river, it will not take long to destroy the biodiversity of Goa because it is on this river that the life and biodiversity of Goa and nature is alive”

Addressing a news conference president of the committee Ramesh naik said that the Anjuna caisua Biodiversity Management Committee has taken a resolution to save the Mhadai river as per the appeal of Goa Biodiversity Board and it has been sent to the Board, the Anjuan caisua Biodiversity Management Committee informed that if the water stops coming to Goa from Karnataka, then it will have adverse consequences

Committee members Satyawan Harmalkar, Sanjay Narvekar and Astrolita Fernandes were present along with him during the press conference held near anjuna Panchayat

Other tributaries of Mhadai River are flowing through Goa and the water of these rivers is quenching the thirst of all Goans, how complicated the water problem is in Goa, Mhadai has made Goa aware, if the people do not pay attention to this problem, the possibility of marriage cannot be ruled out. Ramesh Naik said on this occasion that it is necessary to save water, it is the duty of every citizen to save biodiversity, conserve water and protect rivers.

Most of the panchayats in Goa have taken resolutions to save the Mhadei river, but since the Panchayat has not yet held a gram sabha, we have written a demand to the panchayat to organize a special gram sabha to discuss the serious issue of the Mhadai river” President Ramesh Naik further said
