Calangute veterans started the first half by keeping strong ball possession and the strikers made deep runs into the defence of the candolim calangute veterans also controlled the ball better and kept possession through some crisp passing and calangute opened the scoring through a splendid goal by Alvito Dcunha who scored from close range to give calangute veterans the lead the shot was so precise that it sent the candolim goal keeper in the wrong direction the goal boosted the morale of the players and calangute veterans tried hard to score some more goals but their hopes of scoring more were cut short after candolim veterans striker caetano Ferandes some big defensive blunders by the calangute defenders helped the candolim strikers to capitalise and they equalised through a superb goal from their star striker caetano Ferandes the shot by Caetano allowed the ball to curl a bit and it went straight into the goal of calangute veterans as the goal keeper jumped in the wrong direction . calangute veterans pressed hard for more goals and they got that magical moment through Mathew Gonsavles who scored from close range veterans after getting a neat pass from a calangute mid fielder the first half ended with calangute veterans leading by 2 goals
In the second half calangute veteran players had better control of the ball and kept good possession of the ball and did not allow their resilient defence to break down the calangute defenders defended the ball well and did not allow the candolim stikers to make deep runs into their resilient defence the calangute strikers missed many chances due to some good saves by the candolim goalkeeper . the missed chances boosted the morale of the candolim players and they tried hard to score but eventually could not score any goal in the second half and the match finally ended with calangute veterans finally winning the match.
