It is a need of the hour to have a full-fledged fire station in Calangute due to lot of Fire Incidents
occurring in the coastal belt of Calangute, Candolim, and Baga, also Budget Provisions should be made for the same
Lobo was speaking to reporters at the sidelines of the felicitation function of meritorious HSSC students and 12 standard at saint Theresa high secondary school candolim . besides lobo also present were headmaster of the school Anthony Vaz assistant parish priest of our Lady of good hope church Fr Milagres Ferandes and others. earlier a souvenir highlighting the achievements of the higher secondary school was also released
“There is a need for a full-fledged fire station in Calangute and an estimate for it will have to be prepared with regards to how much budget allocation is needed as in case of a fire emergency a fire service tender can rush to the spot and douse the fire” said lobo
Speaking further Lobo also said that a 4×4 Fire service vehicle along the coastline is a must due to the frequent fire incidents and said that the Tourism department has to ask the Fire department to station a vehicle on each beach stretch
speaking further lobo said that there is a lot of scope in the coastal belt for self-employement and urged the students to start their own business after completing their graduation
“I started my own business at a very young age and those were challenging days but i took up the challenge and went ahead and today i am, successful as i have nearly 450 employees working under me because i started my own business and took up self employment ” said lobo
