Colvale police detained the driver of an eicher truck which was transporting illegal extracted sand from the river Chapora.
According to colvale police based on specific and reliable information a raid was conducted under supervision of Shri. Jivba Dalvi, SDPO Mapusa, Shri. Somnath Mahajik, PI Colvale PS, by the team of Colvale Police staff leaded by PSI Mandar Parab at Bharvan wado, and subsequently the Flying squad team consisting of Mamladar of Bardez, officials of Mines Department and others visited the spot and further process was carried out.
In this connection an offence is registered u/s 379 t/w 34 IPC and for contravention of rule 3,38 with rule 62(1) of the Goa Minor Minerals concession rule 1985 upon the complaint filed by the official of Mines and Geology Department.
