SANQUELIM, GOA: On 1 April 2023 the Government College of Arts, Science, and Commerce in Sanquelim hosted a one-day First Responder Training program in association with EMRI Green Health Services
, organized in association with Kalji. The event was a huge success, with 120 participants taking part in the training and benefiting from it.
The First Responder Training program provided participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to respond effectively during emergencies. The training covered a range of topics, including basic life support, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), first aid, and the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs). Participants were given hands-on training and practical demonstrations to ensure that they could put their newly acquired skills into practice. The training was led by experienced professionals from EMRI Green Health Services, who also provided valuable insights and tips to participants.
Also, the “Baal Puraskar 2023 – Act of Bravery Award” presented by Kalji, was awarded to Ankurkumar Prasad, a 10-year-old boy who saved the lives of three children from drowning in a river.
The event was organized by Kalji an NGO, with the support of the Government College of Arts, Science, and Commerce in Sanquelim. The organizing board included Dr.Gervaso Mendes (Principal) and Saish Goltekar (Director of Physical Education) of the Government College of Arts, Science, and Commerce in Sanquelim, Satish Kumar Kama (HOD of training) and Shrinivas Deshpande (Head of call center 108) of EMRI Green Health Services, Directorate of Health Services and Shringar Naik and Niharika Samant (Founding Members) of Kalji. The organizers were pleased with the turnout and the level of engagement from participants, who showed a keen interest in learning and improving their skills.
