.

Water shortage is a common problem in many parts of the world, and in the future there might be another major world war among several countries only on the demand and supply of water said calangute MLA Michael lobo
Lobo was speaking to reporters after inaugurating the works of the a refurbishing of a culvert and retaining wall at St. Sebestian vadd Candolim near St. Cruz Chapel besides Lobo also present were sarpanch of candolim Fermino Fernandes and all the panch members.
Resources, and infrastructure issues and Canal breaches can also lead to water shortages in the surrounding areas as it disrupts the normal flow of water said lobo
“Tillari canal is a major canal system in Goa, India, which supplies water to several villages and towns in the state and breaches to the canal can cause disruptions in the water supply to these areas, leading to acute water shortages and there is a need to have a long term planning to supply water for the locals in the years to come as a tourism business will commence in the near future .
If there is indeed an acute water shortage in Calangute constituency, it is important for the concerned authorities to take necessary measures to address the issue and ensure a regular supply of clean water to the residents and that the panchayat should stop giving licenses for mega projects. This may involve repairing the canal breaches, increasing water storage capacity, promoting water conservation measures, and implementing sustainable water management practices” said lobo
